On Monday, September 22, 2025, the Jesuits USA East Province will host the 17th Annual Friends of the Jesuits Golf Outing – The Keenan, in Memory of James F. Keenan, SJ, at the Westchester Country Club in Rye, N.Y.
To make sure that attendees have the best day on the green possible, we have prepared this brief article with information to prepare you for the day.

The Westchester Country Club

This year’s outing will be held at a brand-new location, the Westchester Country Club. Established in 1922, the club is consistently ranked among the top in the U.S. It offers two 18-hole championship courses: the West Course (par 72, ~6,752 yards) and the South Course (~6,566 yards, par 71). These grounds have hosted major PGA Tour events, including the Westchester Classic, Senior Players Championship, and the Women’s PGA Championship.
Key Rules & Guidelines for Golfers
To preserve the club’s tradition, participants should adhere to the following standards:
Dress Code (Golf Course & Practice Areas):
- Men: Collared shirts with sleeves; slacks or Bermuda-length shorts (no higher than four inches above the knee); shirts tucked in; approved golf shoes without metal spikes.
- Women: Tailored sleeveless or collarless shirts (properly tailored); slacks, mid-length shorts, or skirts (no higher than four inches above the knee); approved golf shoes.
- Prohibited: Denim, T-shirts, tank tops, cut-offs, sweatpants, athletic shorts, halter tops, blue jeans and shoes with metal spikes.
Electronic Device Use:
- Devices must be silenced or in vibrate mode throughout the main club facilities and are discouraged from use except in designated areas.
- On the golf course, GPS and yardage apps are allowed—but no talking, and ringers must be disabled.
Parking:
Complimentary valet parking is available.
Checklist
To make the most of your day, golfers may want to pack the following essentials:
- Golf clubs, balls, tees, and glove(s)
- Comfortable golf attire (collared shirt, slacks or shorts, golf shoes)
- Light sweater or rain jacket for variable weather
- Hat or visor, sunscreen, and sunglasses
- Reusable water bottle and light snacks
- Small towel and hand sanitizer
- Phone and portable charger
- Extra cash for tipping your caddy and on-course contests; card for auctions, raffles, or additional donations for province
