Jesuit Jubilarian Masses 2018

Sept. 27, 2018 – Earlier this month the USA Northeast Province held two Masses in celebration of our Jesuit jubilarians. Both Masses were celebrated by Fr. John Cecero, SJ, provincial of the USA Northeast Province. The province is grateful to these men celebrating jubilees for their wholehearted response to God’s call to serve.

Dec. 7, 2018 - In his December prayer video, Pope Francis asked us in joining him in praying for those who spread the faith. “Let us pray that people, who are involved in the service and transmission of faith, may find, in their dialogue with culture, a language suited to the conditions of the present time, in their dialogue with people’s hearts, and above all, by listening much.”

Dec. 3, 2018 - Fr. D. James French SJ, was called to eternal life on Dec. 2, 2018. He was born on Feb. 6, 1940, in Buffalo, N.Y., entered the Society of Jesus on July 30, 1962, and was ordained on May 25, 1974. He pronounced his final vows at Canisius High School, Buffalo, N.Y., on Aug. 15, 1986.

Dec. 3, 2018 — December 3 marks the feast day of St. Francis Xavier, SJ, one of the first Jesuits, who is considered by some to be the greatest missionary since the time of the Apostles.

November 30, 2018 — This Advent season, we ask Jesus to light the dark. We pray for that light to inflame us with brighter faith, hope and love.

Nov. 28, 2018 - More than 90% of Jesuit apostolates in the Maryland and USA Northeast Provinces hosted vocation awareness events during the month of November. View highlights from just a few of these works, which have spent this month encouraging those discerning to pursue their vocations.

November 27, 2018 — This year, U.S. and Canadian Jesuits were ordained to the diaconate at several different Masses in the United States, Canada, Rome, Paris and Cairo.
