Video: Jesuit Fr. Vinny Marchionni Reflects on St. Ignatius Loyola on His Feast Day
July 31, 2019 - Today is the feast St. Ignatius Loyola, the founder of the Society of Jesus. In honor of his feast, Fr. Vinny Marchionni, SJ, created a video reflection on St. Ignatius, specifically in his role as a pilgrim. Fr. Marchionni calls him, “someone for whom the future might have been scary but who nonetheless sensed the presence of God in all things.” Fr. Marchionni was one of the five Jesuits ordained on June 8 by Cardinal Joseph Tobin, Archbishop of Newark. He is currently serving at Our Lady of Mount Carmel + Saint Benedicta + Saint Mary of the Assumption in Staten Island, NY, and in September he will move to Parras de la Fuente, Mexico to serve at the Jesuit parish of Santa Maria de las Parras.
July 3, 2020 - Fr. Raymond A. Schroth SJ, was called to eternal life on July 1, 2020. Fr. Schroth was born on Nov. 8, 1933 in Trenton, N.J., entered the Society of Jesus on September 7, 1957, and was ordained on June 15, 1967. He pronounced his final vows at Fordham University, Bronx, NY on August 15, 1976.

June 25, 2020 - Fr. David A. Skelskey, SJ, was called to eternal life on June 24, 2020. He was born on January 26, 1938, in Bristol, Conn., and entered the Society of Jesus on August 14, 1956, and was ordained on June 21, 1980. He pronounced his final vows on November 5, 1989.
June 22, 2020 - Fr. Jack Mandile, SJ, was called to eternal life on June 22, 2020. Fr. Mandile was born on April 6, 1926 in Boston, Mass., entered the Society of Jesus on March 18, 1944, and was ordained on June 15, 1957. He pronounced his final vows on August 15, 1961 at St. Ignatius Residence House Chapel, Cheverus High School, Portland, Maine.
June 10, 2020 - Fr. Mario Powell, SJ, president of Brooklyn Jesuit Prep, was recently on AMDG: A Jesuit Podcast with host Mike Jordan Laskey, they used Fr. Powell's article “‘How long, O Lord?’ Psalm 13 is the cry of black Americans,” as a jumping-off point to discuss the killings of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor and the enduring sin of racism in America.
