Celebrating Our Five Newest Jesuit Priests

Model your life on the mystery of the Lord’s cross.

- Rite of Ordination

Dear Friends,

The words above are often included in our annual Ordination materials because they aptly convey the core mission of our newly ordained priests—to model their lives on the love of our Savior’s cross and to proclaim that love to everyone they serve.

Earlier this summer, the Maryland and USA Northeast Provinces ordained five Jesuit scholastics to the priesthood. Pictured from left to right are Ricardo Ávila Natividad, SJ; Christopher Grodecki, SJ; Vincent Marchionni, SJ; Richard Nichols, SJ; and Adam Rosinski, SJ.

In the face of the considerable challenges facing the Church and our world today, these men are chosen to serve as beacons of hope. Having completed a rigorous ten-year formation program, they now go forth as Jesuit priests to serve the people of God and to minister wherever the need is greatest—to model their lives on the mystery of the Lord’s cross.

Our two East Coast provinces have more than 40 men currently in formation, faithfully pursuing their own path to the priesthood. The Church needs good, spirit-filled priests now more than ever. We humbly ask for your prayers and support for these Jesuits who have answered the call of the Holy Spirit to dedicate their lives to God and to others. Please be assured of our gratitude for your generous support and our continued prayers for God’s abundant blessings upon you.

Thank you,
