Jesuit Superior General Father Adolfo Nicolás, SJ, spent his 80th birthday week in El Salvador with provincials from Canada, the U.S., and Latin America to discussing issues from the needs of migrants and educational opportunities for the poor to environmental protection, and the rights of native people.

May 6, 2016 - On Fri., April 30, nearly 200 Fordham Prep students, faculty, staff, and parents walked for 12 straight hours and raised more than $20,000, which will be donated to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention to raise awareness and support against suicide.

May 1, 2016 - The Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS) ministers to refugees and forcibly displaced people by accompanying them and serving their unique needs such as education. The JRS plans to bring educational programs to 220,000 people by the year 2020.

April 12, 2016 - Patrick T. Maloney has been named interim president of Nativity School of Worcester. Maloney, currently serves at the school’s vice president for advancement, having joined the Nativity Worcester staff as director of advancement in January 2012.

April 5, 2016 - In a letter to the parishioners of the Church of St. Ignatius Loyola in New York City, Provincial Fr. John Cecero, SJ, announced that Cardinal Timothy Dolan has accepted his nomination of Fr. Dennis Yesalonia, SJ, as the parish’s next pastor. Fr. Yesalonia will begin his new role starting on June 1, 2016.
March 31, 2016 - On March 23, it was announced that Provincial Fr. John Cecero, SJ, has appointed the recently ordained Fr. Dennis Baker, SJ, as the next director of Xavier High School, Chuuk. Fr. Baker’s term will begin on July 1, 2016.
