PASE: Trusteeship in Jesuit Schools
“Members of boards of trustees and parish councils have a special role in the vision and governance of our Jesuit sponsored ministries. They should see to it that each of their members has the opportunity for sufficient formation in Ignatian values and the skills necessary for the special responsibility they bear.”
–Fr. Peter-Hans Kolvenbach, SJ, Superior General of the Society of Jesus, “Cooperating with Each Other in Mission,” Creighton University, October 7, 2004.
Trustees play an increasingly important role in Jesuit education at all levels. As the number of Jesuits in active ministry continues to decline, the Board of Trustees of each institution is entrusted with ensuring the school faithfully lives its Jesuit Mission and Identity.
