June 5, 2025 – From February to April, 2025, a group of Jesuits in formation at Ciszek Hall in the Bronx, N.Y., took part in a reading group discussing Facing Race- the Gospel in an Ignatian Key with the book’s author Fr. Roger Haight, SJ.

Organized by Jose Lopez, SJ (UCS) and Eric Panicco, SJ (UEA), members of the group arrived at each session with a one sentence response to a question posed by Roger in reaction to each chapter, examining what it means to live out a call to be disciples of Christ in light of the structures and social sin of racism.

Watch the video below to listen to Fr. Haight talk about why he wrote the book and what he hopes readers can learn from it.
