Online Resources for Advent

As members of the greater Ignatian family, we are blessed to have many prayer resources available to us. If you’re looking for something special for Advent, you may want to visit one of the following:

Arts & Faith – an Ignatian spirituality resource from Loyola Press - offers a video commentary about a work of art inspired by the Sunday Scriptures during Advent.

Creighton University’s Online Ministries never fail to provide the resources we need for any liturgical season. You’re likely to find something in their offerings – from an online retreat to reflections to special prayers – that will enhance your prayer life this Advent.

Advent is a perfect time to learn about the art of Ignatian discernment and decision-making. Discerning Advent from God in All Things is available by email beginning November 28. Sign up in the sidebar on the homepage of the website.

Our friends at Loyola Press have pulled together some additional resources on their page devoted to Advent. One of our favorites is the Advent Calendar.

Saint Louis University Office of Mission and Identity will offer daily reflections throughout Advent. SLU also offers the "Sunday Website" with reflections on each Sunday's readings, as well as intercessions for your prayer.

Finally, we offer, not necessarily a resource, but some good Advent advice from Fr. James Martin, SJ.

Wishing you and yours a blessed Advent as we prepare together to celebrate the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
