March 8, 2021 - Fr. Joseph J. Kamiensky, SJ, was called to eternal life on Monday, March 1, 2021, in Buffalo, NY. He was born on September 5, 1945, entered the Society of Jesus on August 14, 1963 and was ordained on June 11, 1977. He pronounced his final vows on April 22, 1986.

Feb. 18, 2021 - Fr. Herman James Roleke, SJ, was called to eternal life on February 16, 2021. He was born on August 31, 1930 in Elizabeth, N.J., entered the Society of Jesus on July 30, 1949, and was ordained on June 21, 1962. He pronounced his final vows on August 15, 1965.

During Lent, USA East Jesuit Provincial Fr. Joseph O’Keefe, SJ has called each Jesuit to pray and reflect deeply on racial justice and equity work. We are asked to examine our conscience, no matter where we are in our lives and ministries, confront the reality of racism, and ask how is God calling us to respond? We invite colleagues and friends to join us in this time of prayer, reflection and action. Let us ask God for the grace and conversion to more deeply understand and work against racism in our hearts, in our community, and in our ministries.

Students’ Hopes Feed Those Who Accompany Them by Fr. Steve Katsouros, SJ
Fr. Steve Katsouros, SJ, penned the article while serving as dean and executive director at Arrupe College of Loyola University Chicago, a two-year program for students who want to go to college but aren’t sure how to pay for it. It's a great first step for them to earn an associate’s degree with little to no debt before transferring to a four-year college to earn a bachelor’s degree. Fr. Katsouros is now president of the Come to Believe Foundation where he will look to replicate the Arrupe College model at other campuses.
